MaD Handmade Designs currently stocks a wide selection of yarns from Woolcraft, King Cole and Cygnet, we’re always happy to look at stocking both yarns from these brands as well as sourcing yarns from other brands to add to the shop.

In addition to yarn we also stock haberdashery to complement and finish off yarn projects for crafters of all ages.

We also create beautiful bespoke handmade gifts, ranging from traditional knitted and crocheted goods to painted glassware, using our designs, or a design of your own.

Bloomers! We are a new, small family run shop.  A Mother – Daughter team, who hope to bring all sorts of lovely treats to Belper for both in the garden and the house.

We take old containers and recycle them into seasonal flower displays of all different shapes and sizes. Our garden planters are always filled with a variety of annual and perennial plants, So that you can keep them for years and they will always look lovely. 

We also offer a range of house plants and gorgeous patterned pots to sit them in.

18 months ago I set up my little business Memory Maker GB after my husband had passed away the year before,  I basically turned a hobby into a business making personalised gifts, pictures and cards. 

It has been great trying different things and finding what I’m truly passionate about and that’s personalised cards and pictures.  The shop is a natural progression in my eyes but also a very big leap!!!   Going forward the shop will have cards, gifts, personalised and non personalised items and balloons; basically a card and gift shop with a bit of quirky thrown in!!!

I fell in love with The 1924 building and the uniqueness of the concept and the shop fronts which just lend themselves to the vision I had for my business which, is an all year round Christmas shop here in Belper. 

I have been amazed at the response and feedback we have had from all the people who have visit the shop. 

I have sourced some beautiful Valentine and Easter gifts, and can’t wait for Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Halloween and any other high days and holidays. We will be inviting some local small suppliers to showcase their fabulous goods in our shop too.

Hello everyone, I’m Paul from Bearded Badger Books!

Bearded Badger Books is a small independent bookshop, with a special focus on promoting books from across indie and small press publishers, as well as stocking all the best sellers. If we don’t stock it, we will do our best to order it in!

As well as the bookshop, we also run our own small press – Bearded Badger Publishing Co – launched in 2020 with the aim to support writers from across the East Midlands region. We publish both contemporary fiction and poetry, all of which will be stocked in our little bookshop.

My name’s Sophie and I run Duck & Peach Illustration and Design.

My work is inspired by children’s literature and illustration – I have two daughters and we love to read together. I like using lots of colours and creating quirky, funny characters and illustrations that have a bit of magic about them, incorporate elements of nature and fairytales and will hopefully make you smile.

My dream for the last few years has been to open my own little shop where I can continue to create my artwork and showcase it in a beautiful surrounding that people will enjoy coming to visit, and the 1924 Building is perfect for all of that!

Kate Watson Jewellery is a contemporary jewellery gallery/workshop which showcases exclusive handmade jewellery designs. Alongside Kate’s own ranges, she also exhibits a selection of carefully chosen jewellery designers from around the country.

You will usually find Kate within her gallery/workshop, sat tinkering away at her workbench, either working on a client’s personalised commission or enjoying the creative process of designing new and exciting designs.

Kate also enjoys sharing her expertise through her jewellery workshops; where customers can choose a short jewellery making course or enjoy a personal experience at the gallery jewellery bar.
